...Remember Me Standing in a Nice Dress

Have you guys seen Taylor Swift's Wildest Dreams video?
Ever since my good friend Shanda saw it, she's been dying to do a shoot with a flowly dress.

>> I just happen to have this old red dress laying around.
So we went for it!

Miss Kara was so nice to model for us, even though the beginning of this shoot was a little crazy.
I like impromptu shoots they are always a lot of fun!

Bridal Hair + Makeup // Cache Valley, Utah

Sorry I've been MIA on the blog front, well kind of on all social media lately. I can fill you in with all the excuses like holidays are crazy, works been insanely busy, plus I've been sick for like ever! Yes all of those are a factor but to be honest I think I'm just burnt out with the beauty blog. Working in the salon for about 10 hours straight and then blogging about it at night can be a little much.

So I decided I'll still post a few work things here and there but I have a different blog in mind / in the works. So I'm shifting my focus just a little. I hope you guys enjoy it when I finally put it out there!

But for now enjoy the crazy beautiful Mckenzee.
Her and her hubby have been married for just a few weeks, he's one lucky guy!

Hair + Make up: By me of course ;)

Maeberry Vintage // 1940's - 1980's Halloween Ideas

Natashia, the master mind behind Canary Jane, thought it would be fun to give you guys a little inspiration for halloween. Maeberry Vintage supplied all the clothing to give you some fun classic looks. They can work for the upcoming holiday or even just everyday. I know I would wear my dress any given day! I kind of love the 40's look!
If you are in the Salt Lake area and have never been to Maeberry you should definitely drop by. It is seriously the cutest little vintage shop around! I loved looking through all the fab styles from the past, they have just about anything you can think of.
To showcase the styles from the 1940's - 1980's I teamed up with four other bloggers for this shoot. That's been one of the best things about starting Syna Style is getting to meet people from the blogging community. Who knew there were so many out there?

I already mentioned the lovely Natashia before. I'm so glad she put this all together!
Natashia has a blog (Canary Jane) and etsy shop where she sells her illustrations. She made this super cute print for our collaboration.

You can get it here || Here ||
And if you use the code "Maeberry" you'll reciece 10% off!
I'm not gonna lie I was pretty excited to be drawn! Isn't it so cool!?
Natashia is rocking this fabulous dress for her 70's look and she couldn't be more vibrant and happy. I mean come on, doesn't her outfit just make you happy??
Amy is showing you a stylish Mad Men inspired 50's look. I love the details, her pumps are to die for and I obsessed over her gorgeous ring the whole evening!
She is a talented design blogger. Check out Commona My House where you can get endless tips for your home!
Cecilia is modeling a look influenced by the 1950's. This blue is such a darling shade on her and I love her sweet flipped out hair. The whole looks is so cute and feminine. Cecilia is the author behind Dearest Lou. Check out her blog to see some of her other fashion choices.
I'm sure you can figure out what look Sarah is sporting. Her side pony tale and jean jacket totally screams 80's. Love all her sassy attitude and pink makeup; it's so fun! Sarah is the face of Sassy Red Lipstick. Go take a peak at all her neat fashion posts.
I think it would be so fun to live in the 1940's!
Every time I watch The Notebook I just want to jump into my tv and steal Rachel McAdams' whole wardrobe. I love all the silhouettes from this decade. The hair was so fun too! I adore this victory roll that Cassi (Belezafish) styled for me. The makeup was so clean a pretty back then, just how I like it!  Lesley Lind did an amazing job on my makeup! It was so nice to get pampered rather than worry about getting my self ready like usual.

Halloween Inspired Ghost Makeup

I had a blast with this Halloween shoot!

First, Shanda is always so fun to work with.
Second, Becky is seriously the cutest thing ever.
And third, if you know me, you know I love anything spooky!

It was pretty simple, distress a white dress, get a gorgeous dancer, paint her face white, and ta da!

Well it was basically that, other than distressing a dress takes a lot more time than you'd think! I found this dress at the D.I. for $6 then I went to town on it with a cheese grater. I got the idea from a tutorial I read online. They were making a zombie outfit. Who knew?!

|| But as I was doing so dress flurries were swirling around me like a was in a snow globe.
Causing me to sneeze about 573 times that day! ||

Also I think the bikers in providence canyon all hated us because we blocked their trail with fake spider webs. I had no idea that trail was so popular...
My apologies patient bikers!

 >> If you still don't know what you're gonna be for halloween why not be a ghost??

To get a ghostly white face I used || This || & || This ||
I was in awe watching Becky dance! She is so graceful! I so wish I could move like her.

I thought this would be a fun shoot to do a little behind the scenes video. I'm just learning as I go so don't expect to much from my amateur editing. But I hope you enjoy regardless!
Happy October! Xo,

Black + White // Fashion Blogger

I'm a sucker for black and white.
It's classic and goes with anything!

I love this windowpane skirt, not only is it cute but it's so comfortable, you could sleep in it.
And trust me I have, Sunday naps are the best!

I've kept everything else pretty simple.
Easy layering tee, a staple jean jacket, and some black sunnies.
I've gotten so many compliments on these heels. They are the icing to my outfit.

Now, I just wanna go eat some cake in bed and take a nap...
Is it the weekend yet??

Half Up Bridal Hair // Utah HMUA

Michelle + Steven

August was a busy month for weddings! Here's another gorgeous bride I had the privilege to doll up on her big day. I texturized Michelle's hair and twisted two braids around her crown to give it a little something.

Michelle is such a sweetheart, I wish her nothing but the best for her marriage!
What an exciting time! Xo,

Drunken Floral // Utah Fashion Blogger

Isn't this house the prettiest thing you've ever seen?
Someone really lives here! Wouldn't that be amazing?
My skirt is called the drunken floral skirt.
Rocking this in front of all these amazing flowers I'm definitely getting that feeling!

|| Photos by Shanda Lynn Call ||
Skirt from Kingdom and State //
This skirt is fabulous! I love the pattern,  the shape, and it has pockets!
I will warn you though it's a little tricky to walk in.
But so worth it ;)

Top from Bohme //
This Lilac top matched perfectly with my skirt so I had to get it.
The raw collar gives it a little edge and its super comfy!
Purse from Old Navy //
This purse comes in all sorts of cute colors!
I tend to stick with neutral colors when it comes to purses.
That way it'll match with just about everything.
It's the perfect size, it can hold everything I need and is still lightweight.
Earrings + Ring from Rocksbox //
I love how unique these earrings are,
they are delicate but still make a statement at the same time!
And this ring is so dainty and feminine,
I just adore it!

I posted about how Rocksbox works a minute ago.

A few weeks ago my cute friend Jett got married and I was so excited she wanted me to do her makeup for her bridals and the big day! She is a sweetheart and I'm so happy for her and Jeff.

Sequin dress + Rocksbox jewelry

Who doesn't love playing dress up?
|| This Bree Lena dress is fabulous! ||

It's actually two-pieces. You can wear the sequin dress alone or you can put this amazing tulle skirt on top. It makes it a completely different dress. It's so fun!

I first saw her stuff at Provo Fashion Week about a year ago and her set was my favorite.
I became a fan right away. I love how she uses all these wonderful textures in her clothing.

Photos by the darling Lindsay from LC Photography >>
My lovely necklace and bracelet are both from Rocksbox.

Have you guys heard of it? It's pretty awesome!
You take a style survey so they can see what kind of jewelry you like. Then once a month they send you 3 pieces that you can wear however many times you want. If you love a piece you can buy it if not send them back and you'll get 3 new pieces to try out!

All my readers can try it out free for one month!

Glitter + Smoke Bombs with Shanda Lynn Call

This shoot was so so fun! I had this image in my head to get some models in the water with crazy glitter makeup and colored smoke swirling around them. I just didn't realize what it would take to bring it to life. I knew I needed my friend Shanda to take pictures but I'll get to her in a bit.

That whole day, it was raining but we had already rescheduled this shoot once before so I was determined to make it happen. Luckily when we go there, the rain stopped! It was still pretty cold and poor Ally and Whitney were freezing in the water but hey at least it wasn't raining. They killed this shoot!

I bought some colored smoke bombs to get the effect I wanted in the background but I didn't really think it through. I ended up having to get in the water with my all my clothes on up to about my ribs! Also I'm an idiot and didn't think it would be a problem holding the smoke bombs as they went off. They totally burned my fingers. I figured more smoke the better so I tried lighting two bombs at once. That just sent Whitney into a coughing fit with tears running down her face.
>> One smoke bomb is definitely enough.

With all the craziness going on with this shoot, we still had a blast. I made sure to get models who are friends so it would be more relaxed. We turned up the music and laughed the night away. There were lots of "Les be honest" jokes haha.

Whitney and Ally are gorgeous and I loved how these turned out!
So the main reason why these picture turned out so great and we were laughing our butts off is because Shanda is super talented and hilarious! She gets so excited about what she's doing and it's just infectious. I have so much fun every time I work with her. Remember my St. Patrick's Day post or the ADORNit one? Yeah that was Shanda! I just love her! I asked her to write a little something about herself and this is what she sent me.

// Shanda Call from Providence UT, I have been doing photography for about 9 years.  I went to USU for my Photography degree and learned from some amazing mentors along the way.

I have 3 beautiful daughters that are my life, and a wonderful supportive husband. My family is my reason why I do what I do.

I'm a Lover of love, Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate, Chocolate Truffles, and Movie Nights cuddling up with my guy!  I love capturing life through my lens.  Moments and memories pass so quickly and I love that my career allows me to freeze those moments – because they deserve to be remembered.  No moment is too big or small to be remembered.  That little nephew dancing with the flower girl, or a dad crying as he dances with his beautiful daughter on her wedding day, or that look in the grooms eye as he sees his bride for the first time.  I strive to capture all these memories and preserve them because those moments pass by so quickly.  I love love. Nothing competes, nothing feels as complete. Photography often feels like the reason I breathe. //
So this is where I leave you with some cheesy glitter quote like:
She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten
or don't let anyone dull your sparkle.

I think I'll leave you with the wise words or Ke$ha
Go insane, go insane,
throw some glitter,
make it rain!

 Great advice! Xo,
